(Notice Amanda's new hair cut)
Spencer and Maren just climbed the wall so they could "swing down" with the rope.
Spencers smile says it all.
Dave and I both got a few climbs in, as well, very fun, took me back to our days up Logan canyon.
Amanda decided she wanted to go with a shorter hair cut, which I am thrilled about. Her bus comes at 7 am, so getting her out the door with her hair combed out was such an ordeal, this past week has been so much better, and I think it looks very cute on her. She loves it, as well.
All three of the kids have needed antibiotics for different reasons during the past month. Amanda had an infection in her toe, Maren came down wtih scarlet fever(sounds worse than it is), and Spencer an ear infection. We have always been super lucky to not have to use antibiotics much, so I was shocked by how much work it can be to get a kid to take it. We ended up having to get a shot for Maren, because she was the pro at spitting it back at us after we had spent the last 20 minutes wresting her down to get it in her mouth. (I would love to hear how others manage to get their kids to take them...as I know we will likely encounter this problem again.)

Oh, BTW, my mom had a suggestion for getting a kid to take medicine. She says you squeeze the kid's cheeks and then put the dropper or whatever as far back into the side of their cheek as you can and keep their cheeks squeezed until they swallow. I guess they can't use their cheek muscles to spit at you while they're squoze or something. Anyhoo, worked for her. I actually remember her doing it and can give you a demo if you'd like. :)
How fun.....the climbing wall, not the medicine ordeal. Sorry about that - I agree with Stacy's mom.
Hey Nat--
It's impressive how high Spencer climbed--for being so young--but then I remember Amanda also being quite the climber at a young age.
I hope you are feeling well!

Yikes...that's lots of medicine. I guess I've been pretty lucky...Emma didn't mind the orange flavored amoxycillan (yeah, I am sure I spelled that completely wrong).
Climbing looks like a blast! I would love to try that sometime.
Looks like a lot of fun! Manny got the recipe for the bamboo rice off of www.primitiveways.com
They suggest using banana leaves, since we don't have those around here he uses cabbage. Basically you wrap the rice in the cabbage leaf and put in some bamboo. Then fill it with water and stick it right in the fire. When the water is gone it's done. You might want to check out the website, I'm not sure I got that all right. :)
Good luck! The boy scouts think it's pretty cool.
