Thanksgiving Birthday Bash's

So it is always crazy at our house the week of Thanksgiving, and this year proved to not be a let down in that department. My Birthday fell on Thanksgiving day this year. And I have to say it is a little weird for "moms Birthday" to fall on the largest feast day of the year. Everyone kept asking me if I was going to cook on my birthday. Honestly, I did. I tried to get it all done the day before, but it did not happen. Kids, chaos, and I am sure something important came up. But I did enjoy a wonderful meal with good friends complete with a tween rollerskating show to Cajun Christmas music (a birthday present from my hubby...the music that is) and a bike ride with my kiddos. It was a good day.
After putting up Christmas decor, doing a whole lot of black friday online shopping, and a trip to see our favorite light display in Nachitoches, it was time to move on to move on to more important things...
Amanda's 10th birthday! Luckily that fell on a Sunday so it was very low key and gave me a week to recuperate before she had a bunch of friends over for a bash. She had a joint party with a good friend, ate pizza, watched " Alien's in the Attic" and loved every minute of her day. She kept saying to me all week, "Mom I can't believe I am really ten!" I don't remember my tenth birthday, but I hope I enjoyed it as much as she did. and so on her tenth I thought it only appropriate for...
"Amanda's top ten"
10 Amazing sister to her brothers and sister, seriously she will make one good babysitter...soon, and I had my doubts!
9 Affectionate and loving to her family
8 Lover of the written word, magazines, even a dictionary or children's picture books, but science fiction is her passion.
7 Project lover of any sort, but sewing for her dolls and animals, and bead work were favorites this year.
6 Cooking sidekick, as long as it is something she likes, and she is getting increasingly independent. (I am so thrilled to have the help!)
5 Budding artist and cartoonist always at ease with a pencil and paper
4 Loving friend
3 Keeper of many good quotes, from books of course, (I think I have heard one quote from her latest book like 100 times this weekend!)
2 Accident and injury magnet (see previous posts for details)
1 Hard worker who is willing to try hard things, and if you know Amanda you know why this is number one for this year, she has really grown up, and I am so proud of the young lady she is becoming.

Happy #10 Amanda

Happy Birthday, Amanda! 10 is super huge - you're in double digits now. You don't get that kind of hugeness again until you go to triple digits from 99 - 100!!! :)

And Happy Birthday Natalie!! I need to call you sometime . . . maybe while I'm packing. :)
