Preschool Movie Nights. My boys never get to pick out the movie that we watch for family movie night. But they did this weekend, it was all about Busy Town, Blue's Clue's, and my personal favorite Sesame Streets 20th year anniversary (highly recommend for a walk down memory lane).
Bike rides to the "Spider Man Park".
Clothing size/season swap out. (We have definitely thawed out...can I say 80 degree's today!!!!)
Thrift store shopping, the boys love these sunglasses I found them. (I will miss this so much when we leave, as thrift shopping at a military post is awesome with all the relocating going on)
Sleeping in until 8 am!!!!!! (OK only happened one morning, so far, but I will take it)
Fevers. Yes, I said a fever, even that has been great, but only for me. I hate seeing my little ones get sick. But it has been mild, and off and on, and it seems that I have gotten so much done (freezer jam, organize my freezer, Jacobs scrapbook, this blog) because Spencer has been napping this afternoon with this bug.
Damage Control. So when you are the third and fourth child, you sometimes get a bit less attention than say the first and second did. I have seen the results of this all to much, and have been trying to get a better handle on some of these "behaviors". Case and point. Power struggles. If you look closely at this picture below you will see that both boys look a bit distressed. This is because I was taking a picture of Spencer when Jacob, sensing he was being left out of something terribly important. Thus rushed in to shove brother out of the way, and the result...
Don't get me wrong, I know all siblings do this...not just younger siblings of larger families. But I am telling you these two take it to the extreme. Here's to hoping one day they will be friends!
Until then I will take what I can get.
Spencer does not like load noises. Vacuum cleaners, blow dryers, toilets flushing. He avoids them all. For a while Jacob was exhibiting the same behavior, but it was obvious it was just "monkey see, monkey do". Lately he has been vacuuming with me, wanting me to blow dry his hair, and my favorite, flushing the toilet for Spencer. So whenever Spencer goes potty, Jacob follows, and tries to flush, except he doesn't always wait for Spencer to finish. That never turns out very good. Spencer is now working on how to lock and unlock the bathroom door.
It really has been fun and I have to say it is so weird to go back to two after doing four. It feels so much slower of a pace. Maybe that is because we are living on leftovers and I haven't touched the cleaning that I need to do (there's always Monday right?) But I feel much less divided and it has been the best to spend some quality time with little men.

Loved this post. I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys some of the perks of having my kiddos take long naps when they're sick - and you're mega productive for getting all of that done during one nap!
And hooray for slowing down. This post reminds me of the stage of motherhood you were in when I first met you. Made me homesick for the good old playgroup days. :)
