Love is in the air...

I really have thought about love a lot lately, maybe because I recently reread the 5 love languages, or maybe it was because it is just that time of year, but I sure do love this family of mine.  With all the crazy, fun, uniqueness at our house who could ever be bored!

Jacob is at such a great age.  He always listens, follows directions, and rarely complains.  He has the best time at his step up preschool.  They are always making stuff out of simple supplies, and then he comes home and makes stuff here.  These are my favorite creation so far...his "noculars", with the personality to go with them.
Celebrating Dr Suess day, with this awesome hat...
And the "All about Me" poster he made for school. His favorite food is pizza, favorite color is green, he lives in a house, and he wants to be a Ninja when he grows up.
He also made this heart for me at the library at their Lego day activity.  Love his spelling of heart "HRt".  I took him to his kindergarten roundup and he is so excited to finally start kindergarten next year.  I am excited to finally have everyone at their "neighborhood schools" and not be driving around town quite so much.

Movie night with my boys...while the girls got invited to a friends, we watched a star wars movie.

Spencer had a music performance with his class in January.  He is the one in the middle in the orange.  All his songs were about food, and he loved it, minus the loud clapping at the end.

He pretty much eats, breathes, and sleeps star wars these days.  And he tells me that he wants to be a pilot when he grows up now.  He got both a bout of influenza and strep throat and he was pretty delirious with a fever several days with both.  I could not stop laughing at his descriptions of flying away in a cloud space ship while he was half sleeping.  Oh to live in the mind of a kid!  he also taught an awesome lesson in FHE about the things that are good for our bodies and the things that aren't.  he gave Jacob a cucumber to eat and asked immediately after he finished it "do you feel stronger now?"  He proceeded to pass healthy things around to everyone, and when he got to himself he gave himself the lone package of candy.
He branched off from his usual Lego creations and made this "fighter ship" from some leftover cardboard.  I am sure the face is from making some sort of sound to go with the ship.  He rocks the sound effects.

Dave took a trip out to NC for his Granny's memorial service.  It was a nice service, with time to reminisce and share stories about her life, and he was fortunate to spend the time with family.  We did have to laugh though when the temperatures there were much colder than they were here.  Never would have guessed.

Dave and I took a little weekend getaway to Moab and fit in a trip to the temple along with a beautiful hike to Fisher Towers.  And a really nice dinner with a view of the sunset over Moab.  It was awesome!  Love spending time with this guy!
We celebrated our 16 anniversary this March, crazy!

I took another weekend trip to Moab and biked slick rock for the first time with my biking friends.
We stayed in a yurt and had a fun girls weekend.
But unfortunately short lived as I came down with the same strep throat, and was miserable for the rest for the trip.  Glad I could be a shuttle driver though for my friends to ride an awesome Mag 7 trail that is now high on my bike bucket list.

Maren has been busy growing tall on me.  She has the longest legs and is trying to grow her hair out.  I have to smile, because her motivation for the long hair is because it is blonde on the bottom.  If only I could get her to put it back and out of her eyes, I tell ya!  She was about ready to quit piano back in February, but changed her tune after her speech teacher at school mentioned how much she regrets quitting paino when she was her age, yeah for amazing teachers!  She asked her dad to teach her how to dance the other day, and was really getting the hang of it.  Proud of Dave for stepping up to the plate...dancing is not his thing.

And this picture of the art sculpture she made was with an art heritage lesson that I taught in her classroom using wire as a medium.  She made a tree house, and later had a swing hanging from it.  She loves art, and this wire project was one of her favorites.

Maren and I made this shirt for her date with me.  It was a fun pinterest project that we found, and she modeled in the sunlight to show off the sparkles.

Miss Amanda's been rocking the no crutch thing.  She  finally graduated from physical therapy, and got a pair of orthotics to help keep her for injuring herself again.  We'll see how long it lasts.  She and I went on a craft date and picked out this fabric to  make this skirt.  I think it is pretty cute.

And this other picture is of her being goofy making dumbells out of pretzels and marshmellows, exercising those pinkies ya know!
She has picked up speech and debate at school and has loved that, as well as a teen writing club once a month at the library.  We also went to high school registration day, and I am in total denial that I will have a high school-er next year!  Crazy!
This little cutie is a neighbors little girl that is totally smitten with Amanda.  She has babysat a few times for her and has won her over.   Love that we have such great friends and neighbors to give my kids these opportunities.
Amanda has been learning elfish in her spare time using an online tutorial.  I have to laugh every time I listen in on this, she is determined.
