Are we done yet!!!!

After driving home from California, we had one evening at home to celebrate the birthday boy (before Dave and Spencer dissappeared for scout camp)  Jacob who turned 9!
I really am so lucky to be this kids mom.  He never complains, and always likes to adventure with me.  As we were traveling a lot this summer, he was missing his friends a lot.  So this week at home we signed him up to do a sports camp all week with his friends.  He loved it, and had so much fun hanging out with his buddy's playing soccer, bball, volleyball, football, and swimming in the afternoons.  It made for a fun birthday week for him.

Maren also participated in a camp this week.  She did a "girls do math" camp at the local university, and learned a ton, but also made a few friends that love math like she does.

Dave and Spencer turned around and headed to Utah the morning after we got home, Dave is Scout master, and they spent the week at Mapledale scout camp.  It was a crazy week for them, with a few accidents that kept Dave very busy.  One morning Spencer woke up and while walking around happened upon this rattler hanging out near their campground...eek!   It was the first ratler they had found at camp in 20 years apparently.  And it was a big one!  Luckily they relocated him.

Not all was drama, and they had a great time, especially on the canoes.  Spencer is lucky to have several boys his age in our ward to hang out with, and they really had a fun trip.

I was getting a little warn out by this point, as much as I love traveling I find myself saying "Are we done yet?" , so I can get back to my normal routine .  Summers are awesome but exhausting!  Two huge trips and keeping up with laundry and packing and yard/house work in between.  So this week with everyone busy was glorious for me.  I was able to catch up around the house, and get a handle on life before the rest of the summer zoomed by.
And then we were off again...
Maren, Jacob, and I intercepted Dave on the way home to pick up Spencer and take him to Utah with us for a visit with cousins.  Dave had to head home to work (Yes, he does have to work sometimes!!!)  We stayed with Doug and Heather and the cousins played hard.

Amanda flew in from California, just in time to be the musical accompaniament for the kids backyard production.

And then we got to watch Ethan and Sydney in the real deal.  Ethan made the perfect Jeremy Potts, and Syd was one of the children in the cast.

We escaped the heat and visited the aquarium for the day, and then we hiked up to Stewart falls above Sundance resort.  This was a family favorite hike while growing up, so it was fun to share it with the kids.

Even Amanda had fun...

Little legs to remind us to stop and enjoy the trail a little.

And I finally got to ride the wasatch crest trail!!!!  This has been on my bucket list for years and it was so much fun to share it with my brothers.  It was a killer ride with a fun desent into the canyons resort.  Next time I want to time it so I can ride down the pipeline trail in millcreek canyon...
