As for the rest of us...Amanda got a knock in the head with a golf club yesterday. She is fairing pretty well. Just a lot of blood, which was scary for Amanda, and a good headache for a while. She asked for a blessing, and I am grateful that Dave and our friend Chris O'Gwinn were able to give one to her. I am so grateful to have the priesthood in our home.
A new park opened across the street from us, wahoo! The kids have loved spending time there. And I love that I can run home to get a drink, change a diaper, or stir dinner, without having to call off all the fun.
Dave took Maren on a three mile bike ride this week, and she loved it. (Dave came home asking "Did you know she can jump curbs?") I am still awestruck that she made it that far.
Spencer decided he was terrified of the bathtub, this on top of the vacuum, and public restrooms (the flush is too loud, so he gets hysterical whenever I go in one). Any suggestions?

Okay, so I especially liked the picture of Dave and Amanda making a scary face in front of an all muscle "mooning" picture of art in the background. That was great.
My suggestion for Spencer is to either not let him into the bathroom until you're done putting the water in, or else get him a really good pair of earmuffs.
What a great post! Pairs beautifully with your lesson from yesterday--which I enjoyed very much. Tell Dave Happy Birthday.
You've probably already thought of this, but he might like shopping for his very own bath toy and then seeing it in the already run water that Stacy suggested.
Happy Birthday, Dave! :) And good luck with Spencer and sounds. Try running the water first and then letting him get in. Are you guys headed out this way for the holidays at all? We'd love to see you guys again! Happy Birthday again!
I like the earmuffs idea.
Emma would always step out to the sink and then have me flush.
I like that Dave is so cool, calm and collected. I am astonished that Maren could ride 3 miles. What would Dave have done if she pooped out on the way?
I can't even get Bethany to ride a bike.....wow, Maren! You do have a wonderful husband, Natalie....he's an example to all of the men around him, I'm sure. How special that Amanda asked for a blessing....what faith!
Maybe you could take a bath with him?
I am scared of public restrooms too! Walmart has the loudest toilets of all. And they're automatic, so you don't know exactly when they will flush. I always think, wow, if I dropped my keys in there or anything, I would have no chance.
I''m so glad to be in contact with you again. Aren't blogs great!!! So what are you doing and all? I'd love to catch up. Email me at annaedunn@gmail.com
