First Smiles :)

Jacob's newest tactic to make my day...given that his reflux has escalated lately he needed this redeeming factor :)

On our last trip to see the lactation consultant she suggested that I cut all dairy from my diet to see if that would help with the reflux...and after 10 days reintroduce as tolerated. I think I am already seeing a difference...we are on day 3. He has also broke out in a terrible case of baby acne...I guess I better cut down on the chocolate :)

Amanda has been a huge help the past few days helping to hold Jake when he has been fussy...

look how cute he is holding on to her

She also came up with this idea to make Popsicles out of water...
the girls love them...so do I...not sticky, cold, and no sugar high. Go Amanda!

Michelle departed on Thursday...we miss you!

She was a tremendous help..particularly with some of my kids behavior issues. She told me a friend of hers told her she would love to have her play "super nanny" for them...I agree. I think Maren's confidence level has shot up 100% due to her diligence.

And the timing could not have been better to get her off on a running start for kindergarten. She was assigned Ms. Banks, and so far I have been pleased. She has made a new friend and today she informed me that she doesn't learn, just play. I just had to post this picture as I have more recently seen a more creative side to Maren.
I am thinking of putting her in charge of the Halloween deco at the house.

Spencer's contribution this week has had me laughing. He has discovered his own bodily function noises and laughs whenever he makes them, or TRIES to make them. This is not a stage my girls EVER went through...he is all boy!

We have eliminated a long standing tradition in our household this week, night snack, with much grumbling from the kids. It has been long overdue. I needed to simplify our evenings, for my sake. And the sugar high after dinner I have long thought is not helpful with getting kids to sleep, not to mention scripture and prayer time reverence. Not to say that we will never offer a treat after dinner, it is just no longer expected EVERY night. I have already seen great results.

What a cutie! It's good to hear that cutting out dairy is making a difference. I can only imagine how hard it must be to deal with reflux. Sorry about that stress. It's good to hear an update from you.

Oh yeah, so you do have a Nazi mom inside you after all. Way to go getting rid of night snack! Our girls still think they need a "dessert" after every meal, but sometimes is just the idea of having a starburst that will give Lise the willpower to finish her dinner. Oh la, we'll get there.
I loved Maren's balloon head person up the stairs. She should definitely be in charge for Halloween. You'll have the best decorated house on the block! It sounds like school is going well also. I'll try to call you soon. First I've got to be responsible and get a few Primary things done. Oh and P.S. Mandy really wants the name and title of the potty training book. Could you give it to her on her blog? Thanks. Sorry for the novel.

Amanda looks like she's such a great helper! I'm sure it's nice to know that you won't be completely on your own. Tell Michelle "hi" for me.
