Maren loves gymnastics...

Pulling herself up from the knot...she gets a little further every time, but it is hard work. If she can climb to the top there is a bell to ring. She'd really like to ring that bell one day.

Marens loves making the bridge, and she loved that I was taking pictures of her that day.
Amanda has been busy lately selling girl scout cookies and I am happy to say that the money is all turned in and cookies dispersed at this point. I am not a huge fan of fund raisers, but who can resist a few girl scout cookies...they are not hard to sell. She recently had her first badge ceremony, she was excited to get a few badges so her vest didn't look so bare. And she is at a cross roads with her music lessons, she will need to choose recorder or guitar

Here she is with her guitar...she was letting Jacob have a turn and he loved it.

Jacobs least favorite activity is eating anything but mom's milk. But I did discover he likes mango's (in his fresh fruit mesh bag thing). I think I will be using that a lot with him. He seems to like things he can feed himself the best, loves wagon wheels, mum mum's, and gerber teething biscuits. He is really starting to babble a lot, and loves copying sounds and giggling with his sisters.

And Jacobs favorite activity is eating all the toys on the train table...hmmm, not safe for children under three...I know.

And Spencer's favorite activity lately has been trying to pull Jacob off of his beloved train table, or anything else that Jacob pulls himself up to. And his second favorite activity has been whipping the family with his blanket. All in all he has spent a lot of time in time out lately, as has his blanket. To help curb some of this behavior I started a bean jar (pint sized mason jar with a hole in the lid) for the kids to put a bean in when they do things that are kind and helpful to the family, and when it is full we will go out to do something fun as a family. It has been super helpful, I should have started it earlier. Spencer is also into to play games. His favorites are Hullabalu, Connect Four (making designs of course), and Hide and Seek. Today while I played hide and seek with him, he hid in the same place every time, and would just giggle until I found him. Too cute!

Great idea with the bean jar! I might have to give it a try. The girls favorite activity lately is fighting with eachother...not very fun.
The kids are so much bigger than I remember. Maren is tall and Amanda looked like an almost-teen in that picture, though I know she's not. Wow. Great to hear about the family. The jar thing is fun - we did it with marbles and Mallory made messes. Maybe I'll try the bean idea with the hole in the lid. Thanks. :)
Love the bean jar idea. We could use some positive motivation around here instead of all the washing kids mouths out with soap for whining, which is what we're doing over here.
