Olympics

For Family home Evening last Monday, Amanda planned some Olympic Games for us. We skated in our socks on the kitchen floor, showed off our ski jumping techniques (minus the ski's of course) on our massive poof pillow. And for the the grand finale (and a major adrenaline rush) we had our own skeleton run on the stairs. Spencer won the race by finishing the course in under 3 seconds...I think he'd give those real adrenaline junkies a run for their gold....

Of course there was a lesson involved and I was impressed with her selection (Here is a link if you are interested... LDS.org - Friend Article - The Best ). Amanda is always the one trying to get me to "theme" or "match" everything. So it was fun to see her try to come up with a lesson to match her idea.
I was trying to get some video of the activity after the fact, and we had not noticed Spencer had moved the pillows...if you watch her lips move you can make out what she says...

Ouch! (Maybe this was a lesson to check the landing before take off?)
I also thought I would throw in a picture of our Louisiana craw fish cookies...I forgot my heart cookie cutter broke so we made due with some other creations, bears, turtles, and this was my favorite...

The weather warmed up (in true Louisiana fashion) this weekend to the low 70's so we checked out a new park on post...so fun. Jake got his first ride in a swing...

They have some really fun equipment to keep everyone interested...
The playground was fun too...=)

Even the big kids didn't want to leave.

Way cute! That is awesome that Amanda is willing to help out with the FHE ideas. These are the memories the kids will be talking about for years and doing with their own kids! Tell Amanda good job on peddling the family bicycle! (We still use that analogy at our house too.)
