Of Late

Lately Jacob...
..has decided that nursery is not such a bad place...as long as Dave is sitting in there with him.
..has figured out that two binkies is more fun than one when it is time to go to bed.
..has braved going down the driveways with very steep hills in our neighborhood on his scoot bike. (And got his first skinned knee, which he was loving to show to Dave and I over and over again)

Lately Spencer...
..has decided that going to his Sunbeams class at church is more fun than sitting quietly near mom while she teaches sharing time....Yeah!
..has loved following his sisters on their fort adventures in the neighborhood (see below)
..has loved making up songs while he plays with his toys.

Lately Maren...
..was selected as her soccer teams captain for the day, and when they asked her to call out heads or tails while the coin was in the air, she decided it made more sense to wait for the coin to fall. Smart Girl!
..has been reading all the signs along the road, can I say a whole new world is opening up for my girl, it is so fun to see her get excited over a Taxi!
..has figured out a bartering system for her Valentine candy after realizing that she had quite a large stash compared to the other kids. (Point system is to trade any of her candy for candy hearts, which she LOVES).

Lately Amanda...
..has shaved many of minutes off her swimming times.
..has learned how to sew on a sewing machine for the first time and made a very cute bag for her to use at her activity days at church.
..has been building forts in our neighborhood and getting pretty good with the limited resources available to her (pine straw + shrubbery=shelter)

Lately Dave and Natalie...
..have been engrossed with the details of looking for a house over the internet to prepare for our trip in late March.
..have been loving watching a few reality outdoor extreme adventure type shows together in the evenings.
..have been applying the divide and conquer techniques that will likely be the norm, from here on out, with four kids and their various after school and Saturday activities.

LOVE the point system on the candy - has there been any takers? Also, Aly would be SO jealous if she knew that Amanda got to make her own bag. . . we just scrounged one from around the house for Aly to use. Making your own is so much cooler.
