Alligator Craze

Dave's brother and his family took a weekend trip to visit Alligators with us and we had a blast. The weather was perfect, and it was so fun to spend the day with family. This was also Dave's first time to visit the gator park with us (we went when he was in Iraq). And he has wanted to go ever since.

The kids love this bus!

During this Alligator feeding show they feed the gators bigs hunks of third graders (I mean chicken) while you listen to their prerecorded info show. It is entertaining to see the gators jump up for a bite, especially the really big ones. They stick the meat on long wire poles which often get snapped in the process. The guys just bend the end and go on with the show.

Love these signs, (especially the pictures on the bottom of the one above)!

Didn't see any missing limbs this time around.

They have a few other animals around the park, this peacock was huge. The kids love to feed the goats as well, and pose for pictures with the gator art.

Maren and Spencer loved this bike!

Amanda and cousin Jessica were inseparable as usual. Love the glasses!

After the gator park we had dinner in Nachitoches and spent time by the river.
They have great climbing trees, beautiful green grass, and lots of window shopping.

Maren and Ethan had a great time. I think they sat on this pier laughing and talking for like 15 minutes. We will miss having these cousins close by!

After a while we spoiled the kids with ice cream. Dave and I both ordered large ones knowing we would be sharing with Jacob, but he had other things in mind. After throwing a major tantrum, he succeeded in taking over Dave's cone and sharing with him...when he wanted.

But only a little, as I ended up sharing with the poor man too. What a good dad!

I went to a place in Florida called Gatorland which sounds similar! Lots of jokes about missing body parts and children getting eaten. Always fun!
