Spencer turns SIX!

This little man has grown a ton over the last year.  He has gone from a little boy who would stay in my shadows to a much more confident independent little man.  And if the shirt didn't give it away he has gotten several inches taller as well.  Here he is after showing me that he can now do the monkey bars by himself.  He also recently showed me how he can climb our tree in the backyard without my help, do a flip on the trampoline, and go down the stairs on his bike then pop a wheelie at the curb.  Eek!  I think I might have to take this boy mountain biking soon!
I was lucky enough to get to go on a field trip with him and his class to moon farms.  He was super excited to go and even more excited that he got to ride the bus there.  He had been asking about field trips all year and was excited they got two, this and one to the fire station the following week.

His class did a fun little music performance and he did a great job, such a great job that we were privileged to hear the songs for several weeks before and after.  This was over a month ago and he will still ask me what my favorite song was and then sings it to me.  He doesn't mind that I change songs every time he asks, but he does like to sing the song he thinks is my favorite a whole lot. Love the look on his face here...

Since the last day of school was the day before his Birthday we brought donuts for the kids to have
after their field day activities.  Yum!

This water activity was his favorite of the day...he talked about how his team won all day.

And these two ladies have been fantastic teachers this year.  He is now a kindergarten graduate and official first grader!
This amazing lady has been Spencer's speech teacher for the past two years.  She has been amazing!  I have been so grateful for her influence on him, and super proud of Spencer for his hard work to graduate from her program.

So grateful for awesome teachers that give of so much to their students.

And at last ,but not least, the Birthday Boy!  Instead of a big party this year Spencer invited a few friends to join him a the dinosaur museum and lunch at McDonalds.  It was crazy to keep up with these boys but they had a blast and I would do it again.
He requested strawberry shortcake for his birthday lunch and we invited a few neighborhood kids over to enjoy it with us.  Seriously delish with fresh berries from the garden!
