Summer Bucket List Kickoff...

As school was coming to a close I asked the kids to help me make a "bucket list" for the summer.  I love lazy summer days, but sometimes the summer zooms by so fast and all the things that we have wanted to do, well get pushed to a back burner, so armed with a list, there might just be hope!  The first thing we did was tour the Museum of the West.  This was Maren's request as she visited here for a field trip earlier in the year and wanted to bring the family.  It was fun to tour and yahoo a photo op with all the kids looking!
Camping trips also ranked high on our list, good thing we have a few planned.  We put together this last minute one while Amanda was at Girls Camp.  We camped for one night at Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nat. Park.  Which was amazing.  The views of this canyon are stunning, and on top of it we saw lots of wildlife and one of the prettiest displays of spring wildflowers I have ever seen.  Seriously gorgeous!
Another item was to visit Utah and cousins and go to a water park...seven peaks.  Which was awesome!  I am so bummed that I didn't get more pictures of this trip as we also visited tracy aviary, played volleyball, had a cook out up the canyons and played at grandmas pool.  Next time I suppose.  Amanda twisted her ankle at camp, so she is back in the boot, so she was fairly limited at what she could do at the peaks.  So there definitely will be a next time, and hopefully she'll be well.  We came home from our trip to find these beauty's hiding in our tree in the backyard.  I love watching them look at me when I watch them.  Most of the time they just open one eye for a quick little peek...

We have a few more things on our list.  One we have tried a few times but haven't timed it right is watching the candy making at Enstroms one afternoon.  Too bad those false attempts led to ice cream consumption on hot afternoons, I don't think anyone was complaining!
