It's great to be Eight!

This handsome young man of mine turned 8 this May.  Spencer's enthusiasm for life comes through in everything he loves to do.  I love that he loves his Savior and choose to follow his example and be baptized.
It was a special day with family and friends.
Spencer was very excited to start scouts.  They made paper airplanes at his first meeting.  Um yeah, every eight year old boys dream, making paper airplanes to throw around in the church.

I planned a Star Wars party to celebrate with his friends.  He was in heaven.

I may or may not have gone overboard with the food....

Dave helped us make this awesome death star pinata...to bad my photography skills don't do it justice.

And we set up a few different lazer mazes, and obstacle courses.

The thing he loved the most was having all his best friends from school at our house all at once.  He got some great gifts, mostly lego's, but he loved that his friends got to all hang out one last time before school got out.

Michelle and Lindsey flew all the way from Minnesota to spend a week with us, and be there for Spencer's baptism.  It was a fun week, especially for Maren and Lindsey.  They both love to do crafts, so we planned some fun activities for them in between all our playing.  They made tie dyed shoes, friendship bracelets out of pearler beads, and gummy bear popsicles.

We did a fun hike up to Mica mine, a kid friendly mountain bike ride, a day at the lake, and a morning at the pool.  And of course it was awesome to have her help for the baptism day and BBQ we had after with a few friends.

And we even got the kids to join in with us on a few of our morning workouts.  I love my sister and have missed her since she moved so far.  She has been such a big part of the kids (and my) lives.  I was so happy to get to spend a few days with her and get to know Lindsey better.
