My niece was married in the Salt Lake temple this May. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I was thrilled to be there. Dave was able to stay back with the kids, while I took a bus to Salt Lake, then join me later that evening so they wouldn't miss their last day of school activities.
The kids loved the reception, it was in a greenhouse, and of course they had cousins to hang out with. They had fruit and a cold stone ice cream bar. It was amazing.
It had been such a wet spring, that we postponed our trip to Bryce canyon and went instead for a few days to St George for some pool, park, and cousin fun. We did do one short hike in snow canyon, followed by some fun sand play in the sand dunes. I got to try out a fun road bike ride with Dave, and we all enjoyed a few low key days with family.
Once we drove back to Grand junction, we were excited the forecast was looking better, so we planned a hike with some friends. We learned all about frogs mating, and climbed every rock in the canyon.
We made it all the way to the water falls in no thoroughfare canyon before we heard the thunder. We tried to move fast down the canyon, and were about half way down when the heavens opened up. It poured! We were all soaked, but luckily safe. All the kids were great sports and didn't complain.
I'll take a rainy hike any day over a sunny day doing laundry!
