Jackson Hole WY

We were so thrilled for a fun adult getaway and reunion in Jackson Hole, and it did not disappoint!  The company was fabulous, food amazing, scenery gorgeous, and did I mention no kids!!!  It was the best!

We hiked a 10 mile hike to two alpine lakes, seeing fox, deer, elk, and a baby bear!!!  It is up there with my most favorite hikes ever.

This was Surprise lake, it was just below tree line.
Good thing Emily had the good sense to jump in the freezing water...so the rest of us didn't chicken out!

Geese, that was freezing.  And then we slid down a snow bank at the next lake, amphitheater lake.

The brown lump is the bear.  It was eating sap from the tree, it was close enough you could see it dripping from it's mouth.  Too bad we were all freaked out enough (mama bear was bound to be close) that this was the best picture we came up with.

We saw this resident moose everyday at our condo. It was pretty unreal.

These Gordon's know how to play!  We rode the river twice on the same day.  These pictures pretty much tell it all. On the second ride we had a pretty good scare when one of the boats capsized and we had to pull off a rescue.  Aside from a few injuries, everyone was safe in the end.  I was impressed with these amazing people who thought clearly and acted quickly to ensure everyone was accounted for.

Riding the bull!

Luke was steering the red raft and as you can tell, he knows how to hit the highlights.

We fit in a few bike rides, including a down hill mountain bike ride with a few of us, and then this beautiful ride along the bike trail.  Man, you just can't beat the vistas here!
