We had an awesome white winter that lasted quite a long time for here. We just kept getting lots of storms...thanks to El Nino. The snow got so high on the Mesa that the kids made a tunnel through it at the top of our favorite sledding hill. We made lots of trips up there with friends to enjoy the fun.
And a few days enjoying in it in the valley as well.
It is hard to complain when you live in such a beautiful place and you are able to get out and enjoy it as much we do.
Of course, and then there is reality. Maren had this school project on Mayan societies and was needing to make a visual for an artifact. We found a stamp with a sun dial and made these sugar cookies to stamp it on. It turned out pretty cool.
And we found this note one weekend from our budding teenager...good thing her brothers can both read now.
Amanda decided (or got talked into by her band director, we are still debating this) to play the Baritone Sax in her school's Jazz band. I kind of stand in awe of her musical talents. But seriously, if your kid ever asks to play the bari, you should think twice about it. That thing is huge, and it is so loud! Look closely at Dave and you will see he has his noise cancelling head phone on.
Never a dole moment around our house, I tell ya!
