I love all the trips we take, but they are exhausting for this mama! It was nice to relax a bit at home in between, and catch my breath from planning, packing, and laundry!
Back at home Amanda started the process of getting her stuff ready for her first year of college. Only, she brought all her stuff downstairs to sort it out. Ay yi yi! It was huge mess! But a needed process.
And even though we are home for a few weeks doesn't mean we can't have any fun. This summer we discovered the fun of taking our paddleboards out on the Colorado river. Our goal is to float each section, at least once this summer. This was the Junction to Fruita Section. As you can see the water is super high this year. It was great and usually relaxing, but sometimes a bit intense.
It was fun have the Roethels join us along the way, and Matthew did a section wth us one day. It is always fun to have freinds join in on adventures.
Amanda came along when she wasn't working.
Jacob is starting to take an interest in mountain biking, which is fun for me! I love getting my kids in on my hobbies!
He also did a fun soccer camp. Since it was July, it was blazing hot, but that didn't stop them from working hard. He beat the coach at a game that is really hard to do, so he this award. He might have loved the cool down, until they pulled out the ice water. Also it was his Birthday, so that too.
He also had a fun friend Birthday party this same week. They played water games in the backyard, and enjoyed a yummy ice cream cake. I loved that he
And for the everyday picture...this is what happens when you scrape your arm against a rock when mountain biking. Ouch! This one was painful!
