Countdown to Summer!

Marens preschool graduation was today...it was very low key, and she was very excited to get her certificate. She is talking more and more about kindergarten next year, I am hopeful she is ready.

Maren is in this phase where she can't be alone anywhere in the house. So while it is driving me crazy we have been playing lots of games, reading lots of stories, and having lots of interesting conversations together. She is wanting to know why, how, and what everything is lately. In the mean time it has been fun to hear hear her perception of the world, she told me yesterday that the kids that did good at Amanda's school got a piece of paper, while the ones that weren't good got a statue (trophy).
Amanda at her awards ceremony yesterday...
she recieved the principles award for her classroom, based on all around academic achievement and behavior, go Amanda!
Her teacher has been remarkable for her this year. While I have lots of issues with the school here, I have loved her teacher, and am hoping both girls will get equally as good of teachers next year.

Her mothers day plans sort of fizzled out before they got to out of control, wheeew! She did see that I got a nap that afternoon, and she also helped me make dinner.

Complete with candles in the baked omelet we made, and stickers on my dinner plate.
She and Maren both made me coupons for various service's they will provide...hmmm...I think I need to remind them of those soon.

Spencer did go to his appt with the pediatric orthopeodic last week. He didn't cooperate with the x-rays, so we will go back again in 3 months to repeat the process. Hopefully he will cooperate next time, but I am not holding my breath. they didn't really say anything conclusive.
He got an ear infection this week, which isn't so bad, except before I could get him in to be looked at, he threw up all over himself (and me) as we were heading out the door to my own baby shower. (I guess it had gotten so bad he burst his ear drum. Poor kid, after that episode he promptly fell asleep on the floor. We stayed home, not knowing if he was really sick with a stomach virus or was just in a lot of pain. And Stacy and another friend, who threw me the shower, brought over food/gifts from the sisters in our ward.
On the flip side Spencer is now sleeping in a big boy bed,
and he even stays in there most of the time. He is a cautious but independent kid, and the balance of the two makes me smile. He wants to get out, but not sure if he should he will call for me first.
On the other side of the world, Dave has been keeping busy. They decided to power wash the hanger that they use for a clinic, due to all the sand storms I think things get filthy very fast. He told me today a flock of dove's has been hanging out around there spoiling all their hard work. He also mentioned a 2 1/2 foot lizard...glad I don't have those around here.

I am now 32 weeks along, and measuring closer to 34. Dave and I both think my due date is closer to July 8th, than the 14th, so we will see how long this kid decides to stay put.
I was able to finish Spencers baby scrapbook this week. I do one for each kids first year, and I hadn't had time until recently to get his done. For most of the school year I hired our 11 year old neighbor (who is homeschooled) to watch Spencer once a week while the girls are in school. so I could get projects like this done. I have loved this "me" time! And while I am sad to see the school year come to an end for my sake, I am ready for a change in routine, fewer early mornings for the girls, and a little less structure to our lives for a few months.

Way to go Maren & Amanda on your scholarly efforts! Spencer keep up the great work, I bet you are a terrific helper! Glad to hear things are going... well like the life of a pregnant mother who has a deployed husband and children at home!:) I agree, I can't wait for the summer months to have less structure and just time with the kids! Hang in there!

Wow! I love Maren's little cap and gown. I can't believe your pregnancy is so far along already! It's so awesome.
