Reality

So after the honeymoon comes the real world...
Ants in the pantry again...
Lost keys, luckily they resurfaced in the drawer where they belong in the first place.
A broken dishwasher...easy call housing
A broken refrigerator, easy call housing.
A broken washing machine...not so easy, doing laundry for a family of six at a laundermat is a back ache at best...but at least you can get six loads done in about two hours...and then fold the rest of the day. Good news is it should be fixed in time for the next laundry day. Never thought I would appreciate doing laundry in my home quite so much.
It is so great to have my husband back home, not so sure about back to work though. I think I saw him an average of an hour everyday last week. But at least he was here to help get the kids to bed before nodding off himself.
Gotta love healthcare and the army!
As for the rest of the crew...
Jacob is eating cereal, kind of, he actually is gagging on it most of the time. Hopefully he'll get the idea here soon. And he has figured out a sort of army crawl which combined with his rolling can get him pretty much where-ever he pleases.
Spencer has become obsessed with helicopters, even turning my can opener into one, good thing uncle Steve is coming to visit to play with=)
Amanda prepared and gave her own talk in primary this week. She even forgot the talk but gave it anyway from memory... where does she come from!!!!!
And Maren amused me this week with her musings. Playing with the refrigerator light trying to figure out how it turns off when the door shuts. Just how exactly "did Santa make that toy for Jake, it looks to crazy." And "why does Spencer always hurt my insides with his crying." Gotta love this phase.

Love the new photos and look to the blog! Can't believe how grown up everyone is looking.

So nice to see we're normal! I'm sorry ot hear about the honeymoon ending, but if it makes you feel any better, it was the same for us. Leif & I both think we communicated and saw each other on Skype more than we do with his current schedule. For those who don't realize the profession and military obligations it seems glorious, but for us...SACRIFICE has never meant so much. Thank Dave for all he does and Kuddos to you for hanging in and making the best of it with those cute kids of yours! Did I ever email you back? Let me know...I've been swamped and I'll do better....

Nat - it was so good to talk to you the other day and catch up on life. I hope your washing machine is fixed and you are comfortably listening to the dryer buzz in your own home! :)

Oh, and I loved the pinewood derby train. Good memories. Chris has that car on top of his dresser with the trophy and still claims he's going to build a trophy box thingy for the car. Gotta love it.

Sorry about the laundromat needs...I can't imagine carting all of that laundry around. We're definitely blessed with all of our modern conveniences. Crazy schedules and amazing kids...you guys are awesome!
