Visitors

We have a had a fabulous time with family the last two weeks....
Uncle Steve visited for a few days while traveling for work. It was fun for me to see my brother and for the kids to get to know him better as we both live away from "home" and don't often see each other. (Sadly I neglected to take any pictures.) Dave and he were able to see each other in Iraq on a few occasions, it is good to have them both home and safe. The kids had fun romping around the house with "Uncle Doug" (as he was called the whole time by Spencer despite our constant correcting), we went for a great bike ride with the boys in the trailer while the girls were at school, and had fun cooking up some yummy food. Thanks for taking the time to spend with us!

And as Steve left, Grandma arrived! Wahoo!

We have had a fabulous week with my mom.

We took a nature walk around our favorite cypress lake, toured a southern plantation, ate fried green tomatoes, meat pies, and sweet potato fries. Visited the river walk area of Nachitoches, and shopped at an 1860's general store. So cool!
Here's the girls with their super static hairdo's thanks to the slide at a playground...

We also made yummy raspberry freezer jam, and even managed to fit in a bit of shopping. The only bummer has been that my very physical little Spencer managed to head butt grandma's face, and displace a tooth, and put her in serious pain for a few days. I feel terrible.
Here she is with her 14th grand child...(15 and 16 are expected to arrive very soon as Doug and Heather are expecting their twins anytime now. Hopefully they will hold off a few more weeks as Heather is only 32 weeks this Saturday.)

It was good to see you mom and grandma...thanks for visiting!
