Red Rock Hikers

We had a great time with Dave's family for our Spring Break this year. Red Rock country is my favorite, and it was fun to watch the kids climb, explore and spend time with their cousins. Both Amanda and Maren are lucky to have built in friends their own ages. And despite the difficulty of flying with four kids, a smashed hand in the car door (mine..ouch!) things went very smoothly and everyone agreed it was worth the effort.
Here is our loot...
Umm yeah...it was quite a balancing act

All the kids were great hikers, Maren and Spencer loved finding nook and crannies to play in, and Spencer loved to jump from any large rock along the trail he could find.

Amanda loved climbing as high as she possibly could (above), while waiting for the adults with little ones to catch up...she was amazing. She LOVED this trip!Spencer with Uncle Luke. He got braver and braver as the week went on. All except with the pool, which he wanted nothing to do with.
Even Jacob got in on the climbing action...he was just as content napping in the backpack as well.
Maren kept pretending she was in a witches lair..not sure where that one came from...

I just had to get a picture of Jake in his hat, so cute...he earned his crab shirt by not sleeping well. He came down with a cold and cut his first tooth while we were traveling. But it was still worth it.
Chillin with Dad

It was hard to come home...we loved spending time with everyone, and can't wait to move closer out west. One more year, I keep telling myself, we can make it.

You guys look like you were in heaven in all that nature! Aly would be totally jealous of all the rock climbing. Maren is looking a lot older in her face too - it was weird for me to see your kids changing. Alas, I suppose it must happen.

Down in St. George? When were you there? We were just there last week - the 7th - 11th. A lot of fun! Wish we could have seen you, but I guess we'll just have to get by with the blog!
