Visitor!

My sister Michelle came out for a visit last week and we had a ton of fun.
Amanda picked out this hike for us.  She had done half of it with her class for a field trip and wanted to finish it.  It is called No Thoroughfare Canyon, and when you get to the end of the hike there is this massive granite wall, with a small water fall coming down, that completely cuts off the canyon that you have been hiking in.  This is us in front of it.

This hike is about 4 miles round trip and Spencer almost made it all they way.  Jacob did about 3/4ths of it, but needed a nap for the first mile.

We saw and heard tons a wildlife on this hike.  There are tons of frogs, and we even saw two mating, which was cool as they were in a pond that had very clear water, so you could see the egg sack trail behind them.

Also a bunch of lizards.  This one was incredible.  Look at those colors.  It was so fun to watch him jumping on the rocks and looking at us all.

We also did our favorite bike ride along the Colorado river.  The kids did fantastic this time.  you can tell they really have built up their endurance from last year. This is a seven mile ride and we only stopped once for a quick rest and that was mostly to get a few pictures.  Spencer rides on a tag along behind Dave or I and by the end has a pretty sore seat.  But he loves the ride, especially the hills.

Michelle also got to watch Amanda swim at one of her practices, and watch Maren play one of her best soccer games this season.  She took Spencer out for a special time for his upcoming birthday.  He loved every minute of it.   And built an igloo in our living room out of blankets and pillows.  Such a great aunt!

Dave and I were able to get out for dinner and the adult session of our stake's conference, which was wonderful.  And I fit in a few childless shopping runs, which I always love.

Thanks for visiting Michelle!
