LATOJA

Ever since Dave was a kid he has wanted to ride this crazy bike race from Logan to Jackson Hole.  He talked about it when we were first married and lived in Logan, and I don't think he ever got it out of his head.  Luke, his brother, rode it last year, and that really got the ball rolling for them all to start planning.   And when I say planning, I mean planning!  These boys were on the phone constantly planning food (if you can call goo that), gear, attire, bike quality.  They also had to enter a lottery to even get to ride, but they all got in.
This was a race Dave did while we were at Steamboat Springs.  Much of our traveling revolved around his training rides.  This one was one of his best.  It was a high elevation ride of over 100 miles.  He did fabulous.
The "bike" garage and these two were good friends on our trip to Jackson Hole.
Dave is checking out Luke's time to find out if he can keep up the next day on the ride.
Last minute strategic planning

And they were off.  They started at just about 8 am in downtown Logan.

They rode,

 And rode...
And rode some more.
Once in while they would stop for refills of food and water.  This was the hardest part to watch.  Dave was so obviously in serious pain.  He kept getting back on that bike though.

They really kept each other going.

And they finished 210 miles later at just about dusk in Teton Village near Jackson Hole.

So proud of them all.  They rocked it.  And they did it style.

And they are still smiling on the way home!
