Back home we all tried to settle into routine without drivng each other crazy. With school going all online, the hardest part was find a place for everyone to do their google chat classrooms that wasn't close to others doing the same. Our home carries sound really well, which doesn't bode well for quiet working spaces. but we all made do, and figured it out.
There was lots of boredom.
And creative planning to get out and find ANYTHING to do.
Maren and Jacob loved playing pokeman, and finding little libraires to frequent.
Jacob took his creativity to a whole new level...anything was fair game. He just needed to be kept busy. I came to realize just how social he is duing these months.
Maren found herself with lots of time on her hands as her classes weren't terribly demanding. She built a miniature golf course in the garage one day.
She spent a lot of time doing art, especially playing with clay from her cereamics class.
And she discovered how uncomfortable it is to fall out of a hammock. This was my fault, as she told me the day before that there was a rip, and I didn't stop and think about what that might lead too. So not good.
Amanda had a few music classes that she really needed a quiet house for, so we made an adventure every Tuesday out of it and hit the trails.
Sometimes getting in a little over our heads.
There are two kids in the above picture... if you can find them.
Jacob got really good on his bike this spring. It was fun to watch him improve so quickly. Pretty soon he will be teaching me stuff. Except, I'm not sure I want to learn his "stuff".
We had a fun low key Easter at home. Honestly I was just glad I had bought Easter stuff (and TP) mostly before spring break, as it was hard to find anything. The thing I went without the most was eggs. We go through a lot of eggs at our house, and while we could find some, it was never enough.
And it was the first conference we were actually home for the whole thing. Usually soccer games put a wrench in our schedule, but not this year. It was also fun to get to do "barefoot church" at home. We all came to really appreciate the opportunity to learn together.
We were able to take a day trip to gateway and had a lot of fun exploring the trails that way. They didn;t end up being the greatest for biking, so we explored more of the river area, and saw the water canal they had built along there years ago for mining. It was really cool to see and something Dave could actually do with us. Horrah!
It may have been a different spring that what we had planned, but we are so lucky to live where we do and to have so many amazing places to explore.
We also were very grateful to have stayed healthy, and have our needs, and most of our wants taken care of. It was so humbling to see our community pull together to help those that got put out of work, or had health problems from the virus. I really do love where I love.
