Firsts

This week seemed to be one of firsts. Amanda got 100's on her timed math test for the first time since school started. She was a bit behind when we moved here, having not been timed doing her math in the past. But she has worked hard, and wow did she rise to the challenge. Go Amanda!
Maren made her way all the way across the monkey bars for the first time, this was a huge surprise as she had never really made it past the first few bars in the past. She also had her first soccer game, and her first goal. She dominated the ball for her team, but became quite upset when the other team would get the ball away from her. To the point that she sat out the rest of the game, saying she didn't want to play soccer anymore.

Spencer took the cake this week, with his first. Our neighbor was out doing wheelie's on his bicycle. Spencer was on his little push bike observing at first, then he started copying him. No kidding!

This went on for a while, so I was able to run and grab the camera. It was too funny. He has gotten so fast on this little bike.

Dave and I went for Cajun last night for the first time since moving to cajun county. It was also our first night out without the kids kids since getting settled here...wahoo! We liked the food, but next time I will take some tums along=)

I'm glad I found you. Your family looks great. I miss the Hope Mills crowd alot. We got hurricane Hannah as a tropical storm. Lots of wind and rain. We needed the rain. I love the pictures. Spencer is so big. Your girls are so pretty. Hope all is well.

Tums...that's a hoot. I'm glad you got out alone. That's great. Spencer has really given you the run for your money from the get-go. I see this is not going to change. Wheelies!!

Exciting firsts.....Bethany had a similar soccer experience as Maren this past week....she refused to go into the game because she was tired, with a crying embarassing fit to go along with it. Still learning the team concept.

Hurray for date night! Cajun? you are brave.
I love watching the little kids soccer. Denton and Caleb Deca are on the same team. It is hilarious to watch them play. The excitement of the ball at their feet and then the immediate disappointment and tears because the other kids are not "sharing".

Steve's mom is from Louisiana. I have eaten a few things that she has cooked, but it is too much sometimes. Spencer looks so funny with his little bike!! By the way, I still eat pie of the road...
