Soccer Maniac

Yesterday soccer was a whole new story for Maren.....

She was amazing! I put this video on so you can see just how in control of the ball she is. (Push the play button below to view, she is the blond in the white shorts who outruns the boys=)

This play was repeated several times, she made at least 7 goals. Over and over again, she would get control of the ball from a crowd or a throw in and out dribble the other kids. It was fun to watch her enjoy herself. She did get very tired and sat out the 4th quarter, I think the other kids were glad to get a chance at the ball.

Spencer liked the ball as well....
only he thought it was more fun to throw the ball in the goal.
I decided this week that all of Spencers first words revolve around action...
"eddy, et, ooooh" (ready set go)
"rooom" (vroom)
"ooo ooo" (choo choo)
"umb" (jump)
"uh uh" (up)
He does say mommy, da da, and mi mi (milk) so we have hope of vocabulary expansion. Maren taught him to jump off the stairs yesterday...gotta love those older siblings!

Amanda has turned "green" . She found a new game on pbskids.org that teaches about conservation. Since playing with it she has informed me she would like her lunch packed in reusable containers, rather than wasted plastic bags. (I am not convinced that washing the tupperware isn't just as wasteful as the little plastic sandwich bags.) She also checks around the house to make sure all the lights are turned off, which is great, except when your trying to read. And she reuses everything she can for an art project. This last one is not new for her, it just agravated the infetuation! She has taught me some very useful things, like not having nitrates in our washing detergent, and she continually is turning off the water that I leave running. Fabulous!

Whoa! You've got VIDEO on your blog!?! I still need you to show me how to put my VHS home videos onto DVD's! Maren's got some skills!

Amanda's section made me laugh. It also made sense with the opening prayer she gave in primary ("Thank you for the plants and the earth and all the animals in the world and yesterday and our whole lives . . .") and her "quote of the week" she got in sharing time last week. Remind me to tell you about it - I'm going to call you tomorrow. I've got a list (shocker) of things to talk to you about.

That is really cute! All three up dates on your kids. Jumping off the stairs! Get ready for the ER someday.
I like how they are teaching kids now to be resourceful. How sweet is that?

Hey there. It's Tari Bryan. Remember us?? I love to find bloggers from Milwaukee!! We have a blog too. Come on over: teambryanshomeplate.blogspot.com.

Your daughter is awesome at soccer. Kendal likes swimming better than the soccer he tried. He didn't like the rude kids who kicked him (ha ha ha). Glad all is well!! Tari Bryan
