So this week Spencer took a liking to a baby doll at our house. Her name is baby Rose. She was gift to Amanda from Daves little sister when Amanda was 2 yrs old. Dave's sister was 7 yrs old at the time, and baby Rose had been one of her favorites. Amanda became very attached to her, (she is just one of those dolls). Even Maren liked her for a spell, but of course Amanda wanted nothing to do with sharing her at the age of 4. When we moved to North Carolina she disappeared. We thought we had lost her in some of the box's and packing paper that got thrown out, and she was mourned over for 3 yrs. Seriously, Amanda asked for her on a regular basis the whole 3 yrs. We thought she was gone forever...that is until she magically reappeared, just before our more recent move, in a box that had been stored in the attic. (She appeared to have been put to bed among the foam from a printer box.) Spencer discovered her this week and decided that he really liked baby Rose as well. He even took her to nap with him a couple of times. Amanda got wind of his affection and they have been arguing over her all week....yes, you heard that right, my 7 yr old and my 1 yr old are fighting over the same toy!!!!! I am hoping that Amanda will come around and just let him enjoy her for a while as I love watching him cuddle with her, but I can't blame her for not wanting to loose her again. She has her hidden in her bed for now.
I took this shot after Maren's game this week. She scored 3 or 4 goals, the team they played was a little more challenging this time, and one of her own teamates scored a few as well. Maren told me later that night that there was "this boy that was really good on my team, I liked him, he was fast!"
We did escape to civilization for dentist appts this week. Afterwards I was trying to find a Hobby Lobby I had looked up to buy some fabric at, when I happened upon a Target. I decided you know you live in a small town when you are that excited to see a Target. It was very convenient that one of the kids had announced not 5 seconds earlier that she needed to use the bathroom. Thus an excuse to do a little browsing. Dave said he would much prefer me to stay local in the future for the sake of our checkbook=)

The picture of Baby Rose and Spencer is so precious. I'm also very glad that you found a Target. (My favorite store)
I agree! Target is where my money goes.
I can't believe you found that doll after 3 years. That is funny.
I can get quite frustrated about my 5 yr old and 2 yr old fighting over the same toy.....it's hard to not pull for the little one even when you understand how the older one feels about her things.
Love the disappearing...reappearing toy. It's like getting it for a gift twice. I remember that from our many moves growing up. I swear that sometimes the boxes ate my stuff. That was a great laugh...7 years old and not wanting to share her baby doll.
